Presented by Susan Aldridge
Our students are well-practiced in harnessing the latest digital tools and applications to connect, collaborate, and construct new knowledge in a way that is immediate and customized, authentic, and self-directed. For them, it is all about the experience of learning, both in and beyond the classroom. Drexel University Online (DUO) conducted a rigorous global research study to uncover “pockets of innovation” in technology-enhanced education. With nearly 100 case studies in hand, DUO’s web site, Virtually Inspired, serves as an open and ever-evolving repository of pioneering, yet replicable ideas.
Using video examples of real-world innovators, Dr. Aldridge will showcase some of the visionary educators she is discovering as DUO continues its research, educators who are using high-touch digital technologies like augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and robotics. She will also explore how we might re-envision the conventional learning management system to invent a virtual learning environment that better supports these technologies in the service of connected teaching and learning.
