Stock your visual design toolbox in this workshop. Explore design tips and tricks while creating and critiquing your own online course visual assets through hands-on activities with design tools and an overview of learning and design theory. The visual design of your online course offers more benefits than simply aesthetic appeal. A well executed, consistent and logical visual layout enables students to navigate the content with ease and can help make complex ideas more comprehensible, while also lightening cognitive load. Your personal mark through visual design can also play a role in providing instructor presence. Learn about the 5 fundamentals of visual design and develop a model for your content pages. Hands-on practice creating visual elements will be done in Canvas.

REQUIRED: Laptop or tablet

OPTIONAL: Bring a visual design challenge for a current or future course (include course description, learner needs, and description of learner level)
